Supplemental Reading: Fast X (2023)

Here we stand on the precipice of the end. Fast X. The second (or third) to last movie. How does the Louis Leterrier directed, Justin Lin written movie fair? How does Jason Momoa stack up to the all time great villains of the Fast Saga? And most importantly, where does Fast X come in for the rankings between Henry and John? All of these questions painstakingly answered, right here on Zero Credit(s).

Episode 258: Everything Sucks and We’re Mad

Lots of things to be mad about, and only 1 hour, 12 minutes to be mad this week. Henry and John are charged up with rage this week at the very, very dumb things that are happening. A leak of a supreme court decision draft, the content of the leak, and of course, Fast and Furious news are all just rubbing us the wrong way. Hope you like hearing people be mad.

Episode 257: Space Coke Coast to Coast

After a long journey to the very corners of Texas, Henry managed to get his hands on one of the fabled Space Cokes. Does it live up to the hype and warrant a two part segment over two episodes, or will its mediocrity drown us all into a wash of less than stellar content? Only time will tell in this particular episode, fams. We also have the latest Fast and Furious and Venomverse news as there are only two media properties we discuss any more. We’ll find better content soon, we promise, right here on Zero Credit(s).

Supplemental Reading: F9 the Fast Saga

In 2020, a man had a vision. Car go space? Justin Lin was assigned the task and boy, does he ever technically deliver. But is the 9th installment of this time-honored franchise a good entry into the official canon of American muscle cars? Only time will tell, folks. Only time will tell. Until then, here’s our hastily rendered opinions based on vague memories and feelings of sitting in a theatre without the ability to take notes!

Episode 219: The Last Time Henry and John Will Talk (Before Seeing F9: The Fast Saga)

After a year plus delay, the time is finally here – Henry and John are going to see the next installment of that time-honored film franchise that is Fast and Furious. But first, let’s check in on Quibi and get lots of things wrong about how podcasts work. It’s all right here, on Zero Credit(s).

Supplemental Reading: Better Luck Tomorrow

In 2002, MTV productions took a chance on Justin Lin and let him direct what is now a cult-classic coming of age story based in Southern California. Justin Lin would go on to direct episodes of the cult-classic Community before moving on to more mainstream projects such as Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift and doing such a great job that he’s been entrusted with bringing the franchise to an end. It all started with this little movie right here, the first canon Fast and Furious movie (although technically The Fast and the Furious came out in 2001, so it’s kind of like an Iron Man vs Incredible Hulk thing).

How is this movie? Well, we’re here to talk about it for over an hour to find out. Right here, on Zero Credit(s).

Supplemental Reading: Furious 6/Fast 6/ Fast and Furious 6

In 2013, a man had a dream vision while being struck by the lightning bolt of inspiration: To make a movie with three titles and to use them interchangeably in various forms of marketing and representation of the film.  That man was Justin Lin and this film is his last (in this franchise). And if the confusing title is any indication, the plot is just as confusing. What’s not confusing, is how much family means to Dom Toretto. And it means everything. If Dom would have to work for the government to take down an evil Crew of equal, if not greater, skill just to get a chance at winning back Letty Ortiz (who has lost her memory) and reuniting the family once again, he’d probably do it. Now if you’re a man like Shaw, the leader of the evil Crew, you might just do everything in your power to have the most confusing motivations, actions, plans, and schemes as possible, just because villains are hard. But hey, all your favorite characters are back and introduced in the title sequence to cut down any chance of surprise and joy you may have had.

Anyway, our feelings about this movie might be transparent, but the plot of this 3 hour headache sure isn’t.

Supplemental Reading: Fast and Furious

It’s 2009. Every movie around us is dark, gritty, serious with heroes facing real problems and true conflict. Justin Lin is back to rework a movie franchise that didn’t know where it was going. His vision? Drop. The. “The”s. That’s right. The FFCU is back and it’s more streamlined than ever. Forget Sean Boswell, we’re going back to AMERICA this time around cause a whole lot of characters we haven’t seen in near a decade are coming back with a vengeance. Remember Brian O’Conner? How could you? But Dom’s back with his crew and it’s all fun in the sun until SOMEONE GETS MURDERED. We can’t reveal who because that’s kind of the driving force (ha) of the entire movie but odds are it isn’t Brian O’Conner, because WE FORGOT HE EXISTED. Are these random caps doing anything for you? No? Well BUCKLE UP, CHUCKLE HUTS, cause it’s to get FAST and FURIOUS up in this MOVIE HOUSE slash PODCAST.
