Episode 216: Canceltucky Derby

It is the second interim episode of Hot Godzilla Summer and boy are we glad to have this singular opportunity to discuss all that’s going on right now. Which apparently includes the Kentucky Derby? Yes, that’s right. It’s a horse-themed episode of Zero Credit(s) and we are pissing hot at the chance to dive into all the scandals and schemes that unfolded last weekend on the grand stage of horse-related events. Is Medina Spirit evil? Probably. I don’t know. It’s very hard to do anything these days without getting canceled. You can’t even do comedy or inject performance enhancing drugs into an unwitting horse any more without the popular mob rising up to cancel you. It’s just hard to know what’s “right” these days, you know? If you don’t, let’s find out! Right here on Zero Credit(s).

Episode 215: Citizen Gig ’em Ups

In our first interim episode during our Hot Godzilla Summer fest, it’s time to put the Oscars in the dirt where they belong. It’s a tired tradition that brings nothing of value to society other than letting the people involved know they do good work, which to be honest, most of them do in a way that it seems cruel to pick a winner out of them. We recap briefly the 93rd Academy Awards with this in mind and then quickly devolve into a cascading river of topics that include, John’s feelings about life after COVID and the gauntlet being thrown as Citizen Kane is dethroned as the greatest movie of all time. We have most of it right here, on Zero Credit(s), next week is Kong: Skull Island.

Episode 214: The Devil Never Left Georgia

This episode is about the sweeping election reform that was signed into law in Georgia recently and the implications and fallout of that happening. So if you don’t want to hear us get political and explain exactly how the laws are more akin to voter suppression than voter reform, I suggest you skip this episode. We’ll get back to our normal gags and goofs next week when we kick off the Summer of Godzilla, but for now, let’s focus on how certain individuals in power are trying to curb the democratic foundation of our country by limiting the amount of people who can actually vote.

Episode 213: Two Dogs, Two Jobs

At the time of recording this episode, Henry and John were both up for new jobs at new companies and were wrestling with the stress, anxiety, and general feeling of uncertainty that comes with that. They also both got new puppies who have irreparably changed their lives forever.  Also Henry got his first COVID vaccine (John is fully vaccinated), so we’ve got that story too. It’s a very personal episode of Zero Credit(s) this week and we promise to never do it again!

Episode 213 Featured Art

Episode 213: The Ides of Paddy’s Day

In what can only be described as the calm before the Snyder storm, the ZC boys are here to explore Guinness Irish Stout and their mail. That’s right folks, it’s the first ever mail segment here on the show, thanks in part to DrunkTheory (Drunktheory.com), a friendly podcast exploring conspiracy theories and libations. What are the contents of their mysterious package? Let’s find out. The boys also commend Jade Raymond on the launch of her new studio for Sony and take a walk down memory lane to discover just how good Assassin’s Creed was. John says Mommy Milkers like twice in this episode and Henry has no idea what to do with that information… It’s all here! On Zero Credit(s)! Next week: SYNDER CUT SUPPLEMENTAL READING.

Texas Ice Cubs Reign Supreme

Episode 212: Texas is Trying to Kill Us

In our second Texas-themed episode in a row, Governor Greg Abbott tries to kill us by announcing the reopening of the state. Last week, we covered how Texas tried to kill us through sheer incompetence of energy grid management and now this. Next week, he’ll probably announce the first annual purge night while cocking a shotgun. Look, we’d love to talk about other things like Wandavision or Space Jam, but the truth of it all is, we’re too pissed off at our home state to concentrate on any of that. In a time when we should be wondering if the MCU can survive the streaming week by week format (it totally can, btw), we’re left worrying about how many people are going to be negatively affected by PR stunts that only land us in negative national headlines anyway. Next week will probably be a Justice League supplemental reading, just to give us a break. Peace.

Texas Froze Over

Episode 211: Texas Froze Over

An artic blast the likes Texas has not seen for at least a decade or more hit last week and Henry and John are here to tell you all about being impacted by winter weather and incompetent leadership. They also sneak in just the tiniest bit of Snyder Cut coverage as we grow ever closer to the premier of the cinematic event of the century.

Episode 210: The Big Game Fifty-Five

That’s right. Another year, another attempt to use the Big Game as a litmus test of cultural happenings. Does it ever really work? Eh, who is to say? All we know is the game was kind of boring and the commercials were also kind of boring. And in the middle of a pandemic, is it worth gathering 25,000 fans and who knows how many personnel into one close-quarters area for the sake of a kind of boring game? Probably not. Probably wasn’t worth it all, if we’re being honest. Like, we would get more value out of something else that cost this amount of money, to be sure. But all we have is beer and football to show for our efforts. Plus we break down most of the commercials! It’s all here on Zero Credit(s).

Episode 209: Stock Wars

It’s finally happened. The Stock Market has become interesting enough for us to pay attention and even learn a little about what the stocks are doing. A ragtag team of retail investors takes on a group of investment capitalists and hedge fund managers in a tale of suspense, market manipulation, and a whole lot of deep value. Who will come out victorious and cash out with the biggest amount of life changing money ever fought over? Henry and John both have a stake in what’s happening with their combined 1.0018013 shares of GME between them, so I guess you could say this time, it’s personal. We’ve got everything you can fit into a brief overview that somehow takes the entire length of the podcast to get through, right here on Zero Credit(s).

**NOTE, WE ARE NOT FINANCIAL ADVISORS AND NOTHING THAT SOUNDS LIKE ADVICE IN THIS EPISODE IS ACTUAL ADVICE. EVERYTHING IS A JOKE, NOTHING HAS VALUE, THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE MONEY, PLEASE DO NOT SUE US**

Episode 208: The Most Revelations in the Podcast’s History

We don’t reveal a lot of things on this show, but one thing becomes very clear in this week’s episode. Henry doesn’t know a thing. It’s true. He’s been talking all this time, all these years, and he doesn’t know a thing. Come find out what Henry doesn’t know, although the tags will probably spoil a little of it. Also we discuss the current political landscape, so that’s fun as well!
